All current or former public servants (federal, provincial and municipal) and family members are eligible for membership.
Since 1960, our growth has come primarily from satisfied members who refer their family members, friends, and colleagues. Moreover, as a not-for-profit business, we don’t have the advertising budget of the big banks.
No. All Tradex members receive professional advice regardless of their account size.
Tradex is a not-for-profit organization founded by public servants for public servants and their families. Our team has no sales targets, which means no pressure to sell. We offer many investment options with open access to professional advice from salaried advisors.
While you may work with a particular advisor regularly, should you require financial advice during their absence, you will have the opportunity to speak with another Tradex advisor and receive the same quality of dedicated service you are used to.
Collectively, we represent over a hundred years of industry experience. Our team members hold designations including Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst, and LLQP (life insurance). Our advisors spend an average of three years getting to know the Tradex approach and broad array of products before advising members independently.
Our phones are answered from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, and we respond to emails within 24 hours. Members are always welcome to our office to meet and take advantage of free parking, chocolate acorns, and refreshments.
We have no pre-determined meeting schedules because each member has different preferences ranging from monthly check-ins to annual reviews or only as the need arises. Every member receives the Tradex Quarterly Newsletter with new developments and financial markets updates, as well as quarterly statements. All members can attend the annual meeting in Ottawa to hear from the Tradex Funds’ portfolio managers in person.
Yes. For account purchases or redemptions, you must contact us with your request, and your funds will be securely transferred to or from your linked bank account.
Our advisors are salaried and have no sales commissions or sales targets. Tradex revenue comes from three sources: management fees from the Tradex Funds, trailing commissions from other fund companies, or service fees in lieu of trailing commissions collected from you.
